It is located in the southwest of Orhangazi District, 1 km. west of Gemlik - Orhangazi road. It is an old and native village 42 km from the center of Bursa and 6 km from the district center. It used to be connected to Iznik.
It is the foundation village of Yavuz Sultan Selim Khan. The income of the village was spent on the imaret he built in Istanbul. The name Gedelek must have come from “Gedeleç” meaning “arrow kuburu”. According to the 1530 Tahrirat book, it was connected to the Gürle Sub-district of Iznik kaza. In 1530, 17 households lived in the village. The village was completely burned during the occupation years. The most important sources of income in the village are Olive and Pickling.
Especially pickles are the most important source of income in the village. It is one of the most important pickle production centers of Turkey.
There is a recreation area known as Pınar just northwest of the village. And Pınarbaşı water coming out of here has an important place. Pickles are produced with this water, gardens are irrigated with some of the water and the green area around the source of the water is used as a picnic area.
It has been preserved as a natural park area. And it is also used as a recreation area. The historical big sycamores standing at the head of the water are worth seeing.
