Founded in 2016 by 16 women in the Çamlıca neighborhood of Bursa’s Nilüfer district, the Nilüfer Çamlıca Women’s Solidarity and Culture Association has grown into a vibrant community of over 50 members. The association empowers women specializing in traditional homemade products by helping them transform their craft into economic value, thereby contributing to their family incomes and fostering a sustainable social production environment.
The group was allocated a dedicated space in late 2019, leading to the opening of a women-run café in 2020. Here, visitors can enjoy local delicacies such as mantı, börek, and baklava, while also purchasing unique handcrafted items made by the members.
Looking ahead, the association aims to evolve into a formal cooperative, further strengthening women’s economic participation and championing community-based entrepreneurship.
